Once again some 25 Liverymen, Officers and guests gathered in Mansion House to fulfil our long-standing commitment to present the Lord Mayor of the day with “no less that 12 bushels” of fruit in lieu of taxes.

The customary arrangements for the fruit presented to the Lord Mayor were made by Past Master Ivor Robins. (Who kindly donated the asparagus enjoyed at the post presentation lunch).

After the presentation the Lord Mayor and the Lady Mayoress generously provided us with champagne and spent as long as they could mingling with everyone before being whisked off to lunch at Kensington Palace, thus missing out on PM Robbin’s asparagus!
