Special Trees
The Iford Cherry
Rescued from extinction by the Worshipful Company of Fruiterers in 1999 this flowering cherry ‘Iford Manor’ was originally introduced in the late 19th century by the designer and architect Harold Peto and planted on terraces at his home in Wiltshire, Iford Manor.
It is a beautiful shell pink single flowering prunus that has an almost entirely prostrative growing habit and so is suitable for any terrace or trailing position. Also due to its somewhat dwarf growing habit, the Iford Cherry is also suitable for tub or container growing.
